William “Butch” Houghton

William “Butch” Houghton started his dental career at a dental lab in 1972. In July of 1977 Butch opened his own lab, Atascadero Dental Lab, in Atascadero, CA with his wife, Kathryn. From 1976 to 1989, Butch completed Swissedent training, EPF training at Dentsply, attended partial design courses with Dr. Jim Kratochvil (University of California Los Angeles), Dr. Ted Jacobson (University of California San Francisco), and Dr. Bernie Levin (University of Southern California), and became certified in Branemark at the University of California Los Angeles. In 1992 Butch then completed his course work and became a certified CDT. Following his certification, Butch continued to further his education by attending training in Steri-oss, Nobel “Teeth in a Day” at Loma Linda University, and Nobel “All on 4″ courses at Yorba Linda. In 2015 Butch joined his laboratory with Noel Laboratories of Atascadero. In 2017 Butch once again branched off and is now the owner of Houghton Dental Laboratory. Butch continues to stay at the forefront of dental lab technology by attending Spear courses in Scottsdale and Seattle.

Butch lives in the beautiful hills of Atascadero, California with his wife of 47 years. He enjoys time with his 2 daughters and is the grandfather to 2 granddaughters. In his free time Butch enjoys restoring cars, riding his motorcycle, and playing guitar.
